We owe the brand name ARISTOS to a flash of inspiration on a warm August night in 2013. After weeks of trying to find a suitable name for our olive oil that symbolized the quality, efforts, and values of our work, the name was finally decided. The meaning of the name can be easily derived from the society of ancient Greece. At that time, aristocrats were considered the most distinguished and cultivated citizens of Greece.
Today, much more lies behind the word Aristos. In the education system, for example, the student with the best grades is considered an Aristos if they finish their school year "summa cum laude", i.e., with the highest distinction. However, the grade alone is not enough. In addition, there is the recommendation of the teachers, who must judge the student's behavior and character as exemplary. This then enables the selected Aristos student to lead the school during parades with the Greek national flag.
From the ideology of what Aristos embodies in today's language, we have decided to follow this example. Because with our name, we stand for values such as openness, fairness, and transparency towards our partners and customers.
