Greek Lentil Salad
Der griechische Linsensalat ist in der deutsch-griechischen Gastronomie kaum verbreitet. In Griechenland – insbesondere im Norden, wo Linsen angebaut werden – gehört er zu den Klassikern. Eine traditionelle Variante der Erzeugerfamilie Karapatzakis möchten wir Ihnen vorstellen.
Greek lentil salad is not very common in German-Greek gastronomy. In Greece, especially in the North where lentils are grown, lentil salad is a classic dish. We would like to introduce you to a traditional version from a producer family.
Ingredients
- Lentils
- 1 red onion
- 1 medium tomato
- Cucumber
- Bell pepper
- Parsley
- Salt
- Olive oil
- Feta cheese
Here's how
- Simmer lentils in a pot with enough water and a little salt.
- Be careful not to overcook the lentils (they shouldn't burst). The lentils should remain slightly al dente.
- Drain the lentils and let them cool.
- Chop the onion, tomato, cucumber, bell pepper, and parsley and place them in a salad bowl.
- Salt the cooled lentils and add them to the vegetables in the salad bowl.
- Drizzle the salad with olive oil and mix in some feta cheese if desired.
