This ruby-red premium red wine, made from the noble French Syrah grape, has matured for 18 months in French oak barrels. It impresses with its wonderful aroma of red fruits and spicy notes. The dry, varietal Syrah from 2020 is, not without reason, our best red wine – it has won multiple awards, for example, the Silver Medal at Concours Mondial Bruxelles 2017. Highly recommended with festive meat dishes, game, and mature yellow cheeses.
The "Mesimvria Winery" is located in northern Greece. The picturesque village where the vines are cultivated is called "Nea-Mesimvria" and is located 20 km northwest of the metropolis of Thessaloniki. The village is situated on a hill overlooking the Thermaikos Gulf. The two sommeliers Theo and Perikles built the winery in 1996, driven by the vision of creating the best wines in Greece.
Their portfolio includes red and white dry wines, as well as organically grown wines (control number EL 02 Bio). The grape varieties cultivated by the winery are Roditis and Malagousia (Greek varieties), Shiraz, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc & Cabernet Sauvignon. All wines come from Greece and are not blended with wines from other wineries. The maturation and storage of the wines take place directly in Nea-Mesimvria, in the winery's underground cellar.
