Most of you won't be familiar with Fava. These yellow split peas are packed with flavor! As a pea purée with a high fiber content, Fava is considered one of the most popular appetizers throughout Greece. Fava used to be considered a poor man's food. Today, Fava is a must-have in Greek cuisine.
Preparation is also very simple!
The peas are cooked with a little water, puréed after about 30 minutes, seasoned with salt, flavored with olive oil and served with onion rings.
An alternative or addition to the appetizer repertoire is hummus. Hummus is made from chickpeas. Preparation takes a little longer, as our organic chickpeas are not pre-cooked and should be soaked overnight first.
