This strong, salmon-red wine is a composition of Merlot and Syrah grape varieties, which are entirely grown in Greece. Its maturation for several months in French oak barrels creates an aroma composition of wild berries, nuts, and spices. This Greek red wine is highly recommended as an accompaniment to tender red meats. It should be served at 12-14°C in a tulip-shaped glass for aromatic red wines.
The "Mesimvria Winery" is located in northern Greece. The picturesque village where the vines are cultivated is called "Nea-Mesimvria" and is situated 20 km northwest of the metropolis of Thessaloniki. The village is on a hill overlooking the Thermaikos Gulf. The two sommeliers, Theo and Perikles, built the winery in 1996, driven by the vision of creating the best wines in Greece.
Their portfolio includes both red and white dry wines and organic wines (control number EL 02 Bio). The grape varieties cultivated by the winery are Roditis and Malagousia (Greek varieties), Shiraz, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc & Cabernet Sauvignon. All wines come from Greece and are not blended with wines from other wineries. The maturation and storage of the wines take place directly in Nea-Mesimvria, in the winery's underground cellar.
