Description

Extra Virgin Greek Olive Oil in Canister (5 L) - Organically Certified from Own Cultivation Trikorfo Messenia Greece

High olive oil consumption is part of Greek family culture. If you also don't want to miss out on the many benefits and delicious aromas of this rich oil in your kitchen, we offer you extra virgin Greek olive oil in a generous 5-L canister. The original oil from Trikorfo, Greece, thus impresses not only with its outstanding quality but also with the quantity in a bulk pack. You also enjoy a great price advantage when purchasing: by saving working time for filling and labeling bottles, we can pass on the savings directly to you in the form of a discount. Whether a large canister or a small bottle: Since we only have one batch of olive oil, we guarantee the same quality in taste, analytical values, and polyphenols even in the bulk pack. It is the same oil as in the 500 ml bottle.

How to properly use Greek olive oil from a canister?

Many of our weekly market customers have already acquired a taste for our olive oil and want to benefit from the price advantage of the large filling quantity. If you also want to minimize the risk of not having any Greek olive oil left for your salad on a Sunday afternoon, order it online in a canister right away. First, we would like to give you a few tips on how to handle it correctly:

  1. Remove the protective cap.
  2. Then pull the cap upwards and twist off the lid.
  3. Pour the olive oil into a carafe or bottle.
  4. Important: Close the canister again with the twist-off lid.
  5. Store the olive oil canister in the cellar or in your coolest room.

Please also note that when filling the first liter of olive oil, a little may slosh over, as air also needs to enter the canister for the oil to flow cleanly from the tap. Please refrain from punching a hole in the canister to make the olive oil flow more smoothly from the canister. Furthermore, the constant draft flowing into the hole would risk your olive oil turning "rancid".

How long can the organic oil be stored in the canister?

If you are buying Greek olive oil in a canister for the first time, please note the following: Basically, there are two factors that can harm olive oil: heat and UV light. However, light is not a problem here due to the material of the container. Accordingly, only heat can cause your olive oil in the bulk pack to age faster. If you expose your canister to consistently warm room temperatures, the aging process could begin after just six months. Aging means that your olive oil will become milder in taste. Therefore, we recommend storing the olive oil in the canister in the coolest room of the house.

Order your olive oil online now or discover our other range of high-quality products. May we recommend, for example, our Greek olive paste (pesto made from green olives and almonds)? Take a look around and let yourself be tempted! Or do you have any questions? Then don't hesitate to contact us!

IMPORTANT: Do not punch a hole in the canister!

As already mentioned, you should definitely refrain from punching a hole in the canister lid so that the olive oil flows better from the tap. If you don't use up all the oil within 3 months and have punched a hole in the canister, there is a risk that your olive oil will turn rancid. The permanent contact with fresh air is to blame.

The situation is different if you intend to transfer the entire contents of the canister into carafes and bottles. The hole in the canister lid will make your work easier here.
