The original Greek Retsina Roditis, vintage 2020, is a pure delight from real spruce wood. With its subtle resinous note and a delicate bouquet of flowers and fruits, it can be enjoyed neat or as an accompaniment to appetizers, seafood, fish, soft cheese, poultry, or Greek village salad. The Greek Retsina has a perfect finish with authentic Retsina aromas, which result from storage in spruce wood.
It is served at 8-10°C in a classic tulip-shaped glass for young white wines.
The "Mesimvria Winery" is located in northern Greece. The picturesque village where the vines are cultivated is called "Nea-Mesimvria" and is located 20 km northwest of the metropolis of Thessaloniki. The village is situated on a hill overlooking the Thermaikos Gulf. The two sommeliers Theo and Perikles built the winery in 1996, driven by the vision of creating the best wines in Greece.
Their portfolio includes red and white dry wines and organically grown wines (control number EL 02 Bio). The grape varieties cultivated by the winery are Roditis and Malagousia (Greek varieties), Shiraz, Merlot Sauvignon Blanc & Cabernet Sauvignon. All wines come from Greece and are not blended with wines from other wineries. The aging and storage of the wines takes place directly in Nea-Mesimvria, in the winery's underground cellar.
