This purple red wine is a pure delight with a robust cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot. The grapes are grown entirely in Greece. The dry red wine matured for 18 months in French oak barrels, which gives it its delightful aroma of red wild berries. It is highly recommended with festive red meat dishes, game, and aged, yellow cheeses. This aromatic wine is best served at 16-18°C in a wide tulip-shaped glass.
The "Mesimvria Winery" is located in northern Greece. The picturesque village where the grapes are cultivated is called "Nea-Mesimvria" and is situated 20 km northwest of the metropolis of Thessaloniki. The village lies on a hill overlooking the Thermaikos Gulf. The two sommeliers Theo and Perikles built the winery in 1996, driven by the vision of creating the best wines of Greece.
Their portfolio includes red and white dry wines, as well as organic wines (control number EL 02 Bio). The grape varieties cultivated by the winery are Roditis and Malagousia (Greek varieties), Shiraz, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc & Cabernet Sauvignon. All wines originate from Greece and are not blended with wines from other wineries. The maturation and storage of the wines take place directly in Nea-Mesimvria, in the winery's underground cellar.
